My Musical Memories

I stuck with Rendezvous for a little while longer until mid-1998 when Sammy, the bass player and the one who pulled me into this life was making tracks for a new band.  I would still go to see the other band from time to time, but I was now under the employ of The Buzz Band.  The Buzz Band was made up of Sammy on the bass, Tommy on the drums and the band's namesake, Buzzy J., on guitar.  They played classic rock and were very guitar driven as Buzzy J. was one of the great guitar players in Cleveland (I say was because he recently moved to Nashville).

This was the band I worked for the longest, but it would open many doors for me.  The band itself would go into its "Spinal Tap" phase when some new drummers would enter the mix.  Next week I will start looking at the many members who would join the band on stage.

Buzzy J.The two photos above were taken during a rare rehearsal session in Sammy's basement.  I will get into the rest of who was down here in coming weeks.  I was simply sitting in awe of the amount of talent in the room.  The photo below is the drummer, Tommy, but he left the band before I got my camera.  He was playing with another group by the time of this photo.

This photo was taken at the Stamper's Christmas Jam back at the end of 1999.  This event will net more photos over the coming weeks.  I hope you enjoyed this week's look at my past.  Next week, drummers-a-plenty.

I wouldn't mind a name like Buzzy :-) Thinking about all those drummers, like Spinal Tap, has made me smile. I'll look forward to meeting them all.
